The best way for me to describe Annie Lyons -- who I really didn't know that well -- is a free spirit.
Annie didn't graduate from Banning High with us; very few of us saw her during those days.
She was quite athletic, though. After high school, I had the privilege of working several fastpitch softball games for both the Morongo and Soboba Indian Reservations. Annie was a catcher for the Morongo ladies' team who could handle the bat very well.
Very few details are available about Annie's death, but from what I have gathered, she succumbed to liver failure in 2000 at the age of 44.
