The death of a sibling can have a very profound effect on a person's life.
Eddie Hiatt was just 16 when he graduated from Banning High, and turned 17 only one and one-half months before his sister Brenda died from a drug overdose.
Eddie Hiatt was a lot like his sister. It was hard to get to know him, even when he attended class. He was often moody and mysterious -- like his sister -- and always seemed to be off somewhere in his own little world.
And like his sister, a drug overdose the day after Christmas 1979 would prove fatal.
Eddie Hiatt was only 22 years old.
